Captains,

Ah- 3am and once again some of us are not getting much sleep around PMDG.

We've spent most of today working on technical issues related to the release and I expect that we will make the liveries and the manuals live for you within the next 12hrs.

We have a few late changes to the INTRODUCTION (a must read!) and the TUTORIAL (also a must read!) and then they will be made available to you along with the rest of the manuals.

The liveries will be released at the same time, although the paintkit may take a bit longer as it really hasn't been reviewed for accuracy yet.

We are looking for release of the PMDG MD-11 for FSX sometime between Sunday and Tuesday now- as we have a few more technical processes to complete before the MD-11 gets rolled out of the hangar for you.

For those interested in the FS9 version: We have no additional information to give you other than what we have already said: We are expecting 4-6 weeks more development on that platform. Could be shorter, could be longer...

I'll be back to you with more information shortly!

I've put most of the important information in bold. Quoted directly from Robert S. Randazzo- PMDG Development Team.

Man can't wait until the FS9 version comes out. I believe that Fly AOA Media is planning on producing an MD-11 DVD. I have yet to purchase the PMDG 747 training DVD and the Level D DVD.

We've waited, what, 2+ years (more for those who were following Bill's original panel) so I'm sure I can wait a few more months for the FS9 version :hrmm:.

AoA have got their MD-11 DVD in beta testing at the moment. Slated to come out at the same time or immidiately afterwards. Its all looking incredibly amazing. And from speaking to a few of the guys who work on it, even they are astounded by whats been achieved.

From reading through the manuals, the AoA MD11 dvd looks like a must buy product to accompany it.

Captains-

Just thought I'd give you a quick update to say that we are still targeting Monday as our preferred release date for the PMDG MD-11.

To help you with the speculation, I am in the PDT time slice- so we're talking about late in the day for all of you in Europe, early afternoon for those on the US East Coast.

Now- just because I like to keep my options open, there is a CHANCE that this release might push into Tuesday- I'll a bit more in about 8-10hrs.

FWIW: The airplane is done. We are sorting out a few last minute details with the technical sides of a release like this - and we have only a few minor tasks left to complete.

If all goes well- you'll be completely ignoring the forum, skipping sleep and taking your meals on the MD-11 flight deck by this time tomorrow.

For those of you staying in the Marriott hotel across the road from KLGB while waiting to pick up your new airplane, I hope the front desk woke you up from your required crew rest to let you know the above information. After all, if you REALLY want the true-to-life airline pilot experience- you must be sleep deprived at least 80% of the time.

I'll be in touch in a few hours!

It is always a day of amazement when PMDG releases a plane... You would be more likely to see the loch nes.

Well, yeah... just go to Scotland and you'll see it -- much easier than building a realistic FS add-on from scratch.

That's what I think of FS9 after spending the last two months with FSX. :hrmm:
