It must comply with the theme, and be 500x500 or larger, not smaller, unless the theme says so.
How about only one size either: 800 x 600, or 1024×768. That way all images are the same size, makes it better for viewing. That or I am just picky :P

------Some things look better when viewed slightly smaller, or bigger with more detail

Edits are allowed, but you may NOT include photographs not taken by you in it, nor computer generated images etc.  This is a photography contest
I got confused. So if I want to edit a shot, It needs to have me in it? :P

------No :hrmm: if you edit it, you can only use photographs which you took and not anything else.

You must send a picture the the camera in front of a mirror along with your actual competing picture.
Good idea, but the on;y downfall is it is really the same as just saying "This is my camera". Someone could still send in a picture taken by that camera, but the Picture in the mirror doesn't prove it is theirs.

-----We still need to come up with something

Though if someone goes though all the trouble to find pics with the same camera, they really have no life. :hrmm:

Sorry to nit pic, hope you don't take it the wrong way, only trying to help abit ;)

Oh and leaves is a great theme, I have an awesome tree in my backyard.

Ok got it

I got to take a shower, I will try and think of a good Idea. It's my natural thinking place

Doh, water, I knew I forgot something :hrmm:

Anyway really when it boils down to it. If a competitor takes a picture of their camera once just to prove it is theirs, then the Exif. data should prove the rest.

I mean what are the odds of someone finding a picture with the same theme, taken by the same camera, during the same time frame. It should be pretty good proof.  :hrmm:

The image should be no larger than 1024x768. However it can be cut down to "widescreen" (more or less), where the image might be 1024x500. :hrmm:

How does that sound?

pwn, I thought you were changing your politic signature.

Anyway, I wasn't keen on the idea at first, but now it's grown on me.

EXIF will be enough proof -- the chances of someone else taking a photo of the same type of subject in that week/two week gap fo the contest with the same camera the entrant claims to have is too low for it to really happen...

Nah. I saw other people with political-oriented signatures and decided to fight back.

And, as I said before, this competition would only work if the images submitted were under a certain resolution. :hrmm: That way, Mr. I-Have-A-Fancy-Camera can't win with a super high resolution image. :hrmm:

No, no, and no. :hrmm: :hrmm:

If two people entered the contest, one with a point-n-shoot digital camera, and one with a big fancy DSLR, the member with the fancy camera will win. It's not fair to have a photo contest under those conditions.

you could have one of the best cameras and still take crap pictures.
It's about having the eye i would say, But obv Equipment still helps.

I feel your pain David. I had to decide whether I wanted to enter a decent shot now, or possibly a better shot when it stopped pouring rain outside, but being Pacific Canada, I gave up waiting for the rain.. :hrmm:

I believe the contest starts Nov 1.
