What are the bets on someone coming in and going "Ooooh, it's a bad year for aviation"? :hrmm:

Wait, I misread something in the article.

What were the conditions as of ice/temperature at the airport?

Weather was fair, a bit misty as it often is at Schipol.

5 confirmed dead.

Time will tell what happened.

Very bad news. I believe this is the fourth 737NG hull loss? RIP to all that weren't fortunate enough to have made it out of the aircraft alive.

It crashed moments before landing. Whitnesses report a tail down position and nearly vertical impact on the ground. Seems like a stall or something, also no fire. Reported are about 5 deaths and 20 injured of 134 crew and passengers on board. Both pilots did not survive.

The primeminister of turkey gives free what happened to the plane.
He says that the airplane was build in 2002,and from that it was in top condition and in december was the last check and there wasn't anything missing...

Fifth I think Mul.

There was the China Airlines plane that caught fire, Kenya Airways that crashed, the GOL flight, Ryanair (I think?) and now this.

But I'm not entirely sure...

Dutch Officials have now confirmed that 9 passengers have tragically lost their lives, although it's unconfirmed they believe the aircraft had insufficient power and stalled 500 yards from runway 18L (5th runway, or Polderbaan) Officials are still unsure if it was a pilot error or a mechanical error on the autothrottle. This incident is quite similar to the British Airways 777-200 that crash-landed short of Runway 27L at Heathrow Airport.

May the victims of this flight Rest In Peace, and strength to their relatives.

I wouldnt say that as the plane didn't go over a cold area of earth as the BA 777 went over siberia

I would bet it was because of a birdstike; passengers felt vibrations before the crash
