Well done on that I'm glad to hear... though I hope you did understand socialising in the real world is a heck of a lot more important in your youth development stages in being able to make a website..!!

Again well done to you too. It seems that your website experience for "fansites aimed at teenagers" may be whats ever so slightly holding you back and making it look as if people are all turnipheeds, it doesn't only look weird but is very illogical to ask someone to select their language in English.. do you understand what I mean, though? Without that bit of text the little bar you've shown will look lovely and modern. Shows simplicity is key! Good luck with it and I hope to see the line removed in future.. not only is it disparaging but also very illogical.

At least he's actually putting effort into something, I don't know anything you've done and to be frank I don't want to. Also you say socialising in the real world is a heck of a lot more important in your youth development stages in being able to make a website... im sorry but I think creating a pety argument on a forum to try make yourself sound big and important ...
A ) makes you more immature than he ever will be.
B ) is more of a reason to get out than creating a website which can be used as a portfolio or on somebody's CV.

5-6 years in web development can be gained by anybody. I used to work with a 60-year-old who had worked in Web Development since the dotcom boom in 1999, and he is terrible.. just because you may have fiddled around for 5-6 years doesn't mean you're the bees knees at it and know everything. Incase you haven't noticed patterns change tremendously.. just look at how much the internet has advanced of the years and then see how your ridiculous claim is defunct. If your claim is so true, that would suggest you started when you were what? 10? What did you do, drag squares around in PowerPoint then think you've just made a miracle? Incase you really care, I've been WORKING (big difference from yourself) in Multimedia (including the web) design & development since 2001.
Perhaps you don't need a lecture — continue your ridiculous trends popular last year by all means. At the end of the day, you're the muppet asking people from other Nationalities to select their language in English....
Aren't you proud of working with 60 year olds. Look noob, GTFO. Seeing how stupid you can be, I just suggest you don't talk anymore.

No they make the office smell of rotten sausages... No 'NOOB' and no 'GTFO', try something else or alternatively don't post to cause arguments? I don't see why my constructive criticism has made you take such a hissy fit. You weren't even involved in this thread yet feel like you're in the need to comment. Quit commenting and start reporting, you just do exactly what you're trying to prevent. Such as name calling... look who the "noob" is :-)

Well mate, you are not really "designing" for me, you are "designing" for everyone who is involved. Hmm you say to someone "Oh that doesn't make sense, you should do x that or y this", but there again, I said "Well why don't you just make a mock up" Simple. But oh no, you don't do that, you just have to reply with "but why.." kinda hard working you guy you seem to exagurate. I think most people would agree, take it or lose it, your choice, mate.

Sorry... what the did you just say? You want me to design what exactly? A full website or header with flags on it? I never said anything at all is wrong with the header, what I said was it is illogicial and plain right bizarre to ask someone to CHOOSE THEIR LANGUAGE in ENGLISH. Can't that get into your head? I really don't see what is so confusing about it. I'll take my Greek example again:
If you were to open a website that had a header with text in the image saying Επιλέξτε τη γλώσσα σας... what would you think?

I would like you to design a header with both flags, and a drop down menu saying "Choose your language" in the many different languages. TBH mate, you knew what I meant all along, all I had to do is quote you and back my self up. Kinda pathetic. Now go run along and design, is that too much too ask? & if Sam would like to incorporate that into his own website then I see no wrong doing, providing that he has got your permission.
I have a life to live, when I come back after school, I hope to see this work. You don't have to, but I think it might put a stop to this flame war, which Mul has specifically asked not for..

His hole isn't deep at all. He creates very valid points.
I personally think the better approach is just to have the flags in the header / footer, and by clicking on the flag transitions you to the language specific website. Having the icons, and a drop down menu is redundant, IMO.

Now, I have a couple of points to pick you up here on.
1) I never said at all there was anything wrong with the design of the header - infact, I actually really like it. Very sleek and unique so well done to Sam for that. The thing that just flumps me is the need to write 'Choose your language' in English which (as I have said 5 or so times before) is just crazy. Why would I bother designing something for Sam if I already like what he has? The only point I'm suggesting is he removes 'Choose your language' as there is really no point to have it there. People can work out perfectly well what the flags are there for, and asking an Arabian to select their preferred language in ENGLISH is beyond me... the whole point of having flags to chose the language is so they know instantly what it means. If they don't understand English, why are they going to understand Choose your language? Just keep things simple. It makes it look a heck of a lot better and less disrespectful to your visitors.
2) If you have a life to live why do you bother attempting to beat me with a metal pole to choke a design out of me? Go live your life and enjoy school.
3) If you wish to stop this "flame war" then stop posting, moaning about the most simple of things simply because others are. What is the whole point in that anyway? Someone says one thing in disagreement, and about 5 others repeat it yet give a 'Thumbs Up' anyway. That just expands flame wars even more... then the same people turn around and say "Oh yeah great rule to enforce well done". There's no understanding you lot. It seems at times you post a message then run around your room screaming with excitment when you see a reply made by Arm Out The Heli.. egar to read the users response.
