This is a great tut for making composites, most people try to make them and fail terribly. Ive used this technique a few times myself, it is very effective and easy to do. Many great editors that i know all use this technique for cut outs. :hrmm:

Captain S.S i reccomend you go to a site called screenshotworld.com

They would greatly appreciate it there :hrmm:

Hi Brandon,

I am already a member of screen shot world and I know the Professionals there use this method instead of silly curves.  I haven't had much time to post there in a while but I'm getting back into Photo shop now with holidays coming up.  :hrmm:

This is 4 minutes of work.

I know one of the admins at SSW, maybe I should have a chat with him tomorrow regarding the behavior of his members...

Okay so your insulting the people who I called Proffesionals there and then telling me your going to chat with one of their admins tomorrow regarding the behavior of its members?  Honestly were you referring to yourself?  :hrmm:

And also what was the cut-out you did supposed to prove?  You didn't spend much time on it because I can see some of the background in the cut-out

The part where I said 4 minutes just doesn't justify your argument. Admins were included.

Edit: I'd love to see a version of your way without any feather, pronto.

I never made any statement saying this could be done in 4 mins.  In fact I said you have have to work slowly and steadily.

Also feathering is not necessary.  I usually don't feather but if its a photo with lots of Jaggies in it then I will feather to get rid of those pesky jaggies. :hrmm: In the tutorial I said quote: "You also might want to feather the selection. Feathering the selection basically blurs the edges so to reduce the look of jaggies. I would recommend feathering by 0.5 pixels, but that's up to you."  Therefore this implies feathering is not necessary.

I'm finding that most people haven't even read the tutorial properly and thats were all these arguments are coming from.  Please don't argue something if you haven't done or read the tutorial throughly.

I did read it carefully, you're following an improper method. Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people abuse the privilege.

^^Behaviour of its members? I see nothing wrong here, he just shared his opinion. perhaps its not the best way, its still very effective. And yes there are a few professionals at SSW, true, not all of them are but still

Perhaps, there were better ways of communicating that though.

Not saying that you're to blame, i just kind of thought everyone immediately took the piss because they know better

No it doesn't, the pen tool can create straight lines beautifully. You're just too lazy to learn how to do it.

Lazy to learn how to create straight lines?

I learned how to do that in daycare.

Pen tool isnt jsut for cutting out crap, and making nice drawings, it's for making PATHS; from which there are numerous options.
