This thread might sound silly since I think I know what most people here have come to expect with the new MSF.
Although there may be "some" that think differently.

But if Microsoft developers are really reading FSW posts, we can show them what we want with this poll.
After all we are a large supporter of MSFS, a company or its product can only survive with its customers.

Hopefully Microsoft will hear us.

Now just vote!  :hrmm:

We may be the most dedicated users of MSFS, but we are also the smallest in numbers. We all probably prefer realism, but Microsoft is probably more interested in profit than fanbase.  :hrmm:

I noticed I can hardly type when I'm sleepy, so this reply is short and probably won't make much sense to me tomorrow. :hrmm:

Just read the FAQ page on the flight website. They killed this rumor. Why would they try and create an FSX replacement that is just dumbed down on purpose to a basic arcade game?

Game sales. The simulator wouldn't be that popular if people who bought it needed to read a 1200 page AIM, a 1200 page FCOM and hundreds of FARs just to fly a C172. They designed every platform so that a 6-year-old with no flight experience can fly without much difficulty, so I don't see how this one will be any different.

It's impossible, at least if you want to keep the platform at a affordable price for the masses. You get what you pay for basically, and you can't expect to have a realistic flight platform for under 50 even if it's a barebones kit.

I really didn't like the missions in FSX where you had to intercept a huge alien ship in Acceleration pack.

I really preferred the original missions where they were references of actual aviation stuff, like the ghost planes in the Bermuda triangle.

I want something that's in the median. Where I can go out and do missions, but the next time I play I can fly a 747-400 from Seattle to Paris.

Wow, I totally agree.

That mission where you chase a UFO... WTH?

I liked some of the missions, though. The "fly here, then fly here, then fly here and park" missions were very enjoyable, and could be played from a realistic standpoint.

But the UFO mission, I mean come on.

What do I want?  I don't care as long as it is open to third-party development like the past simulators.  Let's be honest, how many of us actually use the default aircraft and often fly to default airports?  I always use add-on aircraft and almost always fly to airports covered by payware/freeware addon scenery.

There's nothing wrong with that mission. FSX was developed for experts...kinda, and newer people. Not everyone will enjoy that mission, but some will.

What is realism? I've gotten a little bit confused after reading part of Stephen Hawking's 'The Grand Design'. Is anything real?

Anyway, I couldn't care less.

To me, flying is all about traveling around the world and enjoying the great eye candy.

If Microsoft Flight sacrifices a little bit of realism in expense of performance, I'd take it.

Better flight physics and no platform limitations.  :hrmm:

Yeah well... I honestly hope they have casual modes for us too. I never took flight simulator seriously anyway. My favorite thing was flying around the Gulf and pretending I was somehow running away from my pathetic life.

Sort of like what Mohammad was saying, it's great to use our imaginations in FS to believe that we've escaped to a far away land.
