Really? 2013? It's still only September.

Maybe we should make an upcoming flights 2014 since I've got a large trip already booked for that year too.

You never quite know with Emirates. Flying out, I was in a 777, flying back, A380. They used an ageing A345 for the longest stretch to NZ...........which wasn't nice!

I think they are all 380's except for the Perth - Dubai which is a 773ER

EK406 and EK421 are both 777s. And kaine, I thought you were trying to spell EK16.

I've been wanting to "get away" for a nice 3-4 day weekend but I have no idea where to go.  I'd be going by myself.  Not really interested in the CONUSA & i'm sure Hawaii is way too expensive no?  Maybe Antilles?  This would be booked a couple months in advance but yeah...been wanting to see and experience something different.

I know you said you aren't interested in CONUSA, but have you ever been to Chicago? It is a fantastic city for a quick weekend getaway.

Other than that, you could go to San Juan (some great places there), St. Maarten is fun too. You can find some deals for Hawaii but personally, if I'm going to fly all that way, I'd want more than a weekend there.

Well I could use more days so I'm flexible there (probably not more than 5-6 days).  I have been to Chicago several times back when I used to live in Michigan.  You are definitely right though, it is a very nice city to go explore.  I'm just sick of how almost every place you go to in the CONUS, it's practically the same.  I've lived in 4 different locations in MI, 3 years in SC, and now in TN, and it's all the same (besides weather and the couple rolling hills that are around here).  Took a trip out to AZ and Vegas in '07 and again, pretty much the same apart from sand instead of grass.

I just want to go to a different land where I can take my mind off of regular life and just relax and enjoy being "away".  I don't know too much about the Caribbean to be honest so I couldn't really pick a place to go to at this time.

Well, personally I would say St. Maarten might be a nice way to change things up for ya'. I spent only a day there and loved every minute of it (and I never even went to Maho beach to watch the flights come in and go). There are plenty of attractions around the island, you can just lounge around the beaches, and it really is neat experiencing the differences between the two sides of the island (French and Dutch). But if you do just a tad of research, you'll find quite a few islands you'll want to visit so just pick one!

That's my 2 cents, anyway.

:P Yeah yeah whatever lol.  The only reason I can't make it a longer trip is because I only have a certain number of days I can take off from work.  At the present time I only have 3 days that I can take off for the year, so that's my limiting factor.  Trust me, if I had more time that I could take off from work I definitely would be planning something bigger that's for sure!

Thanks PHX, what all did you do while you were there? (You can PM me if you want).  I've heard nothing but wonderful things from places like St.Barts, St.Thomas, San Juan, etc..!
