why not have the countdown box for the edited ss contest too? I'm sure it will help in making it a more popular contest.

That is an excellent idea.  I think the exposure would draw more contestants in.

Note to future readers - this countdown box only appears a couple days before the contest starts, and disappears shortly after the contest starts.

It will mention that once the time left becomes 0 hrs and 0 mins. It's usually Byron.

"splash screens" or something to that effect should do it.

And to answer the question on who to send entries to, it will be Byron this month.  Just don't get carried away and send them before the countdown timer - he usually discards early entries.

The poll usually starts when I have received 25 submissions, wich is always within the first 24-48 hours.

   Hey Byron I read in the info and rules that if there are many submissions then the very earliest submissions will be regected. Because I sent mine in RIGHT after it had hit 0hours 0 minutes and 0 seconds on the timer. Does that mean my shot will get regected?

No latest will be rejected if there are too many submissions.

If your shot arrived in my inbox 05.59AM (that's the opening of the contest in my region), it won't be in the contest...

Send it!   Depending on how many people have entered ahead of you there's a chance it won't be accepted, but you never know (and we have accepted entries 2 or even 3 days before, it all depends on the number of submissions).

Assuming you mean the countdown message then your shot should appear in the contest if it follows all the rules.   Byron may not reply to all submissions - that would take forever!
