REMOVE *, *, and *. Those are way to crisp to be right out of FS, and you know it. ###### Cheaters. Byron I hope you do the right thing!!!!

Regarding the supposed edits, remember that Byron has the final say on what shots make it into the contest.  There are too many variables between each individual system to be able to prove a shot is edited (video card, level of antialiasing, capture program used, JPEG compression level, etc, etc).

Obvious edits are caught by Byron and turned away before the contest starts.  If an edit is not noticed by Byron then it should not have any bearing on the outcome of the contest.

Thanks
Jon

Great entries with this very difficult theme !  :D

As an experienced simer and hardware guru you know, that you can adjust in your driver settings values for brightness, contrast, gamma and for nVidia even vibrance and image sharpening. A fine tuned setup here can produce beautiful night shots like you see them on your screen. Is this edited ? No, it's not !

So if you don't like a shot, or you think it's an edit - just vote for another one  :o

The "vote only - no comment" type poll is looking better all the time.  I wonder whatever happened to that idea?  :D

Byron, Brad, and I have agreed on a new rule that should help settle the edited shot questions once and for all. :o  Here it is:
  • [Effective starting April 2005] Once a contest has started, shots will not be disqualified due to editing. Do not discuss edited shots - this is not fair to the owner of the shot. All shots are screened before the contest, and the Contest Host has the final say on what is edited and what is not.
This will prevent the monthly arguing over shots that appear to be edited.  Byron will make the final decision before the contest starts.  He will likely be a little tougher on entries he deems edited, so it is in everyone's best interest to not cheat. :D

If everyone follows that we'll have a lot less problems when it comes to screenshot contests from now on.   :D
