even following all the steps in the gmax tutorial, i can't assign textures to that little house..  i think that tutorial is for a previous version of Gmax, as things look a little different now, i mean, the screens pics are different than what i get now..  :P

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated..  B)

Oh, Merry Christmas..

I've red in other foruns that the gmax tutorial (not the scenery design tutorial in the SDK) have an error, but no one has been able to point it out.  :o

BTW Happy New Year !!!!!! (and hope that Santa has been generous)

Do you guys have any tips on that ?

PS: Raligard was able to compile the file i created...  :o   i wonder how.. :P

Hello, I've doing some tests but can't export to fs here are two logs:

Quote

mdlcommander version: 1.03
© Doc Moriarty - 2002
original commandline:
argv  0 : D:\3D\gmax\PlugIns\makemdl.exe
argv  1 : -b
argv  2 : -bgl
argv  3 : \\Miguel\FlightSimulator\Addon Scenery\scenery\Box2
no special parameterfile \\Miguel\FlightSimulator\Addon Scenery\scenery\Box2.par found
extracting mdlcommander parameters
looking for model: Box2
calling mkmdl with: mkmdl -bgl "\\Miguel\FlightSimulator\Addon Scenery\scenery\Box2"
created process: 1248
exiting mdlcommander with rc=-1

Quote

Running model

Start! (\\Miguel\FlightSimulator\Addon Scenery\scenery\Box2)
Loading X \\Miguel\FlightSimulator\Addon Scenery\scenery\Box2...
Error in exporter: Mismatch between # vertices (12) and # normals (9) in part Box01.
Error!
Error!

I can't "decode" the logs. Can anyone identify what are we doing wrong just by these logs?
Thanks,
Jorge Antunes

hey Jorge... i got you PM ok...  that's what i am experiencing here too..  i first thought it could be some wrong polygon on the 3d model, but after creating that little house (tutorial stuff) for the 4th time i realized that wasn't the problem...  :o   i get the same scary log box as above...

I've found in other scenery design foruns that this problem can be resolve by changing  the decimal separator in windows regional options from , (comma) to . (point).
I've tried it this morning and the export process didn't give any error message. But I still haven't check it out in FS due being at work and I believe that my boss would be much happy seeing a plane rater than some maps (or something like that) in my monitor  :o
When i tested in FS I'll give you the result.
Happy New Year

Very interesting, I would have never thought of that. I hope it resolves both of your problems. Happy GMaxing.

Hi,
Does anyone know the best land water mask (and all the other stuff like forest city) editor for FS2004 (I need one that has the level of detail to make things such as small islands and marinas.

Hello everybody,
Got this tip from a Portuguese forum (Obrigado José Oliveira  :o ).
These are two utilities to make flattens and excludes.I haven't tried iet but the person who told me about it is very reliable.
Flattens:

Excludes

Hope it would solve some of your problems.
