Does anyone know how to convert models made in SolidWorks over to models that GMax can interpret?

Ryan, I don't'n know what tipe files solidworks can export/save as but gMax can import the following file tipes: .3ds; .prj; .dxf and .shp. Maybe solidworks can export/save as in one of those file tipes.
BTW I'v seen that the links to the SDK still referer to the FS2002 Scenery SDK. Microsoft as release a FS2004 gMax gamepack. See it here.
Best regards
