I was just wondering who was running this card.  I have a gf 4600 and I cant max all my settings out with a gig of ram or 2.4 ghz on the processor.  So do you guys think that this card would allow me to do this even though my board is a 4x and not a 8x.  Beats having a 2x though on the agp slot.  Thanks.  And what frames per second can I expect on the new card if I got that one and are there still problems on the cockpit view in the game

Well, if you went out and got the FX5900, let me know how it is I want that card so bad, I might get it end of August.  But, I did hear about those FX cards giving problems with Dirextx9, Nvidia, supposably was supposed to give out new drivers after the 31st, still haven't seen them.  Just hang in there, I think they will release it soon.

Virtual cockpit works fine, I guess I'll have to use that until the new drivers come out.
I just hate to spend over $235 on the video card, install it, get all excited and BAM! the thing doesnt work right.

Barret, the 5900 is an oustanding card, eventhough I don't have it :P
Instead of buying that expensive card I would recommend you to buy a faster proccesor. That less expensive. That should increase your system performance more. Its your choice though :o

P.S.---> This is only if you want to have more FPS

I have an Athlon 2.2 on an Asus motherboard with 512 RAM.  I would expect to get very nice fps with that.  We'll see...

So you guys think that by changing out my processor, this will increase my fps.  My trouble is that when I am turning up all my features that is when I start having issues.  Those lovely (and dang) clouds are what are screwing my fps up.  Otherwise I hold about 30 fps unless in a airport like Los Angeles.  And I don't know if since I have a Dell, YUCK, can i change the motherboard out on it and the processor and everything else work.  What do you guys think?

well, this kinda sucks.
Im getting 7-10 fps flying over the city with all the settings maxxed out.  But it does improve over the mountains to well over 25fps.   Chase view over the city was giving me around 15fps.

I noticed on that site that they have detonator drivers 45.20.  Would that be an even better driver?

All of you getting 15+ fps are lucky.....I get 1 to 2 fps with all the setting on low. If I set the setting to medium...I get a slide slow...If I set the setting to high, I get a still picture that moves once every 30-40 seconds.  :o

I'm playing on getting a new computer....A Sony Vaio (don't know which model yet, but you can bet it will be 2.0Ghz, at least 512MB, 120@7200rpm with GF4 Ti series graphic card) within the next two months.

For now, I choose not to fly my Fs2004, perhaps by then I will be able to fly with SQbox also.

Something is definately wrong with your computer.  With those specs you should be getting from 7 to 20 fps more or less.
Upgrade all your drivers, specially your video card drivers.  That will probably help.
Also make sure transform and lighting and render is on under the hardware settings in the fs video settings menu.

Jasminegab do you have a bunch of apps running in the background? In the system tray? If so turn them all off. Like antivirus, Kazza, etc... Also if you feel brave enough click Start -> Run then type msconfig click on the startup tab and uncheck everything you don't want to start at startup. That will free up extra memory and cpu hogging little buggers.
