Now back on track, I'snt FSX supposed to be released on Oct 7 in US?

I don't think that previous posters comment is irrelevent.  Comparing the time when FS9 was released to now, is comparing apples to oranges.  Why?  Well, this is why.

At the time when FS9 was released, AMD and Intel were still at their ghz wars.  Ghz equals raw power, and I am sorry, but that is what FS9 and FSX code is written upon.  This is why we saw MAJOR LEAPS IN PERFORMANCE everytime a processor manufacturer released a new chip that was 500 mhz faster then the previous one.  As you can see, the ghz war is over and it has shifted to how many cores can we get on one die.  I don't care if you have quatra alamundo quadro hydronuclear core at 2.0 ghz, you are going to have problems running FSX, PERIOD!!!!!  The code is ancient and it needs to be reworked to take advantage of the new technology.

This is my take on the subject and only my opinion.  Hopefully DX10 will be the Holy Grail to this all.

Well Best buy is not giving it up as they are sticking to the 17th so I tried to go back to 9, but it sucks compared to FSX.

Don't even try, the cat's out of the bag, everybody knows that the release date is the 17th. BTW I just had one reserved at Gamestop.

I reserved one at Gamestop as well, Best Buy isn't giving them up, so don't bother.

Picked it up at the local Best Buy.My computer is an antique and it shows.I do like the new approach panel  feature.I am disaointed that they did not redo the steam gauge Barron as the did for the 172sp.The graphics package is beyond my 64 mb nividia but I kew that going in.I will eventualy screw with all the settings and find an accepatable  setting .So far the biggest headache has been getting the correct button and axix assighnments for my Ch  pedal,yokes and throtles.I am sure that
all you guys with all the addons will find the default program a little disapointing but for me it is still $70.00 well spent.

Well the word is out not to release it before the 17th or people face hefty fines, why Microshaft does this is complete BS, but if you have it consider yourself very lucky as most of us will not even see one before the 17th.

This is really F***ked up as the east coast and Midwest are getting them but no the west coast as my Bust Buy have a bunch of them, but have strict orders not to sell them before the 17th or people get fired and fined.

You say the Midwest is getting them, get this. I've been to all the stores today, Toys R Us, Circuit City, Best Buy, Gamestop. All had the same   answer "it comes out on the 17th". Finally I just preordered one at the Gamestop. Why such a steep fine for one game, what is the military going to shoot a missle into your computer?
