General Aviation - I'm not sure about the airlines as yet I seemed to have lost a bit of interest.

PPL > IFR > University- Aeronautical Engineering> Flight school - OAT > Then aim to land a job with BA. After that, progress up the ranks and with the engineering background go into a pilot managerial position.

International air travel for me

Because:
  • The flying would be amazing, no other words for it,
  • Seeing new countries and experiencing different cultures would be a fantastic experience,
  • Meeting new people [crews etc.] would make for a great social life,
  • The status would be great,
  • The uniform looks really good ,
  • And last of all, [least important to me] would be the salary, as long as I can provide for my family and keep them in the manner they are accustomed to, any rate of pay would be fine
That would be my ultimate goal, but I don't care where I start out

The goal is to attend either the Unites States Coast Guard Academy or the Air Force Academy and fly for one of the branches. Not sure whether I would make a career out of the military, but that decision is a long way off.

I voted in wrong place.

I want to be a domestic airline pilot but also want to have a plane of my own.

GA is all I'm going for, but I think "GA" is a bit vague.
When I said GA, it meant a Cessna Caravan 675 or maybe later in my life the Citation CJ4 for my family and friends (we like going on ...well...big vacations)

Note that I am 14, and I understand it won't all happen so fast, and NO I do not think that FS2004 will make me ready. Believe me, I understand

Cheers

CJ4 would be for fractional or sole corporation. Unless you are making huge bucks, I can't see that happening. But if you do, and it's for family/friends only, still constitutes as general aviation. Unless you plan on flying for compensation, which now crosses the border of general aviation .

I would say General for me, I love flying in simulators and when I am flying for real it is awesome. I would rather own my own small plane though, just as a fun thing.

Here is what I was thinking the other day, buy my own plane, something like a C172 and start my own pleasure flight type thing, then when the money starts rolling in I employ a  few other pilots and start a small airline/pleasure flight business.
