Woohoo! AI! Glad you got it working. :o

If you download the full afcad program (can't remeber exactly where to get it, but a lot of sites host it, so just look around), you can edit the position and types of gates and taxiways, and get those planes out of the side of that wall.

I've edited the tutorial slightly to help anyone who has had the same problems as those which have been highlighted so far.

Have you tried downloading it again? You may have just been unlucky with the download.

I'll try it and see what happens.

It works fine for me. What program are you using to open the zip file?

Try downloading the latest version of winzip from http://www.winzip.com

It may be that you have an older version which won't recognise newer kinds of zip file.

The evaluation version ask whether you want to buy it or just use the evaluation version. Click this last option.

Also make sure you are saving the file you want to open to disk first, not just opening it, as sometimes winzip won't open it like this.

I had a quick search around and found that quite a lot of people are having this problem with the new version of the installer. Using the latest winzip version seems to fix it.

Now you will have real airlines flying around and it should all be working properly. Now the final step is up to you, depending on whether or not you want to get rid of the default fake airlines. To do this you need to go into your main FS folder and go to scenery>world>scenery and look for a file called something like 'traffic030528.bgl' The six numbers may be different on yours, they are just the date that the default traffic file was written. This is the file that contains all of the default AI traffic. Rename the extension to .lgb which will stop FS from using it. Now in the 'PAI Installer & Special packages' section on the website get the files 'FS2004 Default General Aviation Traffic Installer (realistic registrations)' and 'FS2004 Default Vintage Traffic Installer' and run these with the PAI installer. This will add back the light aircraft and vintage flights, whilst leaving out the default airliners.
There you go  :P
You could have just read the "installing realistic AI" pinned post but i felt like letting you be lazy  :o

This is really the wrong thread to ask this in.. :o

Unfortunately the VCs are an integral part of the the 3D model, so you can't download and add them to aircraft that don't have them already. :o

I found some files on flightsim.com that might help those that want to stick with the basics and get things going quickly. These files change all of the default ai aircraft to real world liveries. (ie: American Airlines, Continental, Air Tran, United, British Airways, and a few others.) The files are: ai_b777.zip; ai_b737e.zip ; ai_md83.zip; ai_b747.zip, ai_b737.zip; ai_dash8.zip... the 737e is the euro versions. the 737 is the USA types.  This other file that I found changes the default sounds for the ai making them sound more realistic than the "half way 'round the world" sound they make now. Installation was pretty easy.

To TechnicolorYawn:
I did the whole PAI installation and it worked well... i had used the above files as a quick change and thought I might add that to help those that want to make things change quick. I should also add that the change in textures does not affect frame rates at all.

Happy flying,
