well my final 2 cents on this is as follows.  I don't have a problem with BP making gates for metro, but I thought this was going to be kept internal.  I don't agree with the marketing ploy, metro has always been very humble to this point, this thread doesn't come off that way, it comes off as bragging.

Make no mistake, I am not trying to pile on or hammer Metro, I am still a pilot and have a friend or two there.  This was just one thing I didn't agree with thats all.  metro is still a stellar VA.

MetroAir is a wonderful VA. (I've joined but became too darn annoyed with my stutters from my computer that I never filed any flights), but it looks to be a very professional VA...

Now, you do realize they have flight requirements in order to STAY in the VA. If you do not file a flight record within x number of days, you are out.

But, I'd have to say, I agree with zrotzel.
These free give aways are come to be some sort of advertisement, like "Come join for x months and you get y product free!"

I think that if this was done within the MetroAir forums only, it would be better as there would be less flaming due to no big ad saying come here and get this!
