Like M1ck97 said make sure you haven't got your clouds turned up to the max as there is no system that can produce good framerates with the clouds at max.

Also I see that you have 3dmark2001. Have you run it since you installed windows?
Run 3dmark2001 on default settings with AA and AF set to application preference and performance. Reply back with a score, you should easily get 20000 plus.

Also make sure that you aren't overclocking at the moment as if you have a motherboard with no agp/pci locks when you raise the fsb of the processor the Agp frequency will rise with it as well and this can cause lots of problems and even damage your card. Make sure the agp frequency is locked or set to 66Mhz.

Are your other games installed on the same hardrive as flight sim?
If not install flightsim in the hardrive that the games work good on.

1Gb of DDR400 ram would help a bit but there won't be a patch for flightsim.

Try reinstalling Directx 9b from here:

Directx 9b

Try installing flightsim on the other hard drive and make sure it is a full install and not the compact option.

So your running the 250Gb hardrive with windows XP, and the 160Gb has FS and Windows XP aswell??

If this is the case, Format that hardrive, and just put Flight Simulator on it, no need to have 2 sets Windows Xp installed.

Download this program called Drivercleaner and run it in safe mode(F8 on boot up)
and in the program choose "Nvidia" from the list and let it clean any old drivers out.

Driver cleaner

I don't think the ram is the problem, I don't think the graphics card is the problem.

I'm running a simillar system P4 @3200 and X800pro. I get 17fps at KSEA on the runway with heavy thunderstorm and all settings maxed. Running 1600x1200 and 6xAA 16xAF.

I tried pulling out one stick of ram to leave 512mb in single channel. I reduced the ram speed to 266MHz also. I still get the same 17fps. The ram has no effect. I'm totally cpu limited in this test.

No it's not a cpu problem as that cpu is superb. I think it is flightsim conflicting with something in your system.

Do you have access to another computer that an run flightsim? If so try it on another computer.

The thing to do is to wait for some more opinions and question from other members like Coffee Break Pro as he probably knows more than the rest of us.

From what I've read the Amd 64 3200 should have more processing power than the p4 3200. Your 3d benchmark score confirmes that also. You easily beat the 3D mark scores I get.

We need to see some results of Amd 64 with fs2004 from another source to see how well the two perform together.
