Because the way you complained made it a rant, Iain.

Just understand that the controllers are there the deal with things like these. They don't care if someone puts BA instead of BAW.

It was a rant and therefore treated appropriately.  Moving on...

You're not making a point because you're just as bad.

He's right you know... Although he worded it terribly I agree 100%.

The quality of the VATSIM pilot has gone to :hrmm: lately, hopefully with their new P1 program this can improve upon this.

Keeping the controller interested with the general lack of professionalism from the pilots is tough, and because of this we have large groups leaving for companies like Pilot Edge where they're guaranteed decent pilots. We've noticed this most with ZLA.

If anything I would ask out of respect for the controller PLEASE, FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS, FILE A PROPER FLIGHT PLAN, AND LISTEN BEFORE YOU SPEAK. Also, if you're unable to perform the SID/STAR as published don't FILE FOR IT, only file for what you personally are capable of performing.

Oh and if you can't be respectful get off the network.

I'm not just as bad. The example given was a one off where I was new to the CRJ. We've all been there before.

OK I admit that, but I was new to VATSIM, and I didn't actually fly anywhere under those callsigns.

Yes, clearly shown by your remarks and your flightplans you aren't ahead of anyone else that you're complaining about.

3rd sentence just destroys your whole "point".

Also to add your complaint about remarks -

http://vataware.com/....cfm?id=8797682 is far from the real remarks.
Yes I know but at least I give the controller some useful information. If you look at my other recent flightplans, they do.

This is about flightplans. At least I had a valid flightplan. I do appreciate that some people are new but others do the same over and over...

Your "remarks" don't really give any useful information, Maybe the callsign, but you fly airlines that every Tom Dick and Harry flies.

Equipment codes are pointless, the controller probably doesn't know what they mean and your addon probably doesn't even have half the stuff. DOF. Really? I mean come on you're on the network no one cares when the flight took or takes place or is taking. REG, no one cares pointless to have online.

Putting I'm new in the remarks is probably quite a lot more useful that half the :hrmm: you put. At least the controller knows hey maybe this guy needs a little more help or time.

Also "remarks" in real flightplans only come after "RMK". So if you really want to put the real remarks in only put stuff that follows "RMKs" into the Squawkbox remarks, but even those will be useless.

Let me see...

+VFPS+ / R / REG / LNRLR OPR / SAS CALL / SCANDINAVIAN DOF / 04122011

Controller doesn't need to know the reg.
Controller doesn't need to know the operator.
Controller doesn't need to know how to call you ( If you're flying up there with ATC, they'll know what SAS is ).
Controller sure as :hrmm: doesn't need to know the date.

You did... o wait, you didn't give him some useful information.

Also -

These are real remarks coming from the real flight plan. But want to know something? None of it means B) all on vatsim.

Hmm, I joined VATSIM 6/10/2004 but apparently have been dropped from the rolls entirely as neither my USER ID or Password are recognized any longer...

Oh so now you're Mr. Perfect. It's useful to have the date so you know when the flight was flown (duh), the reg is useful to others, the callsign is very useful - some controllers don't even know the SAS callsign. It's happened many times before.

You're an idiot if you believe that any of that has anything to with Vatsim.

The only thing in my remarks that would have anything to do with Vatsim is the SELCAL and TCAS EQPT.

Now now, let's not start calling people idiots.
I haven't flown on Vatsim for about 6 years and was always an on and off pilot. I would always put a comment in the remarks section so the controller would be aware of my inexperience.
Isn't that what it's there for?  :hrmm:
