got fs04 played it and it wouldnt work, so we rang microsoft up at £300 a min, and they found a download to upgrade my vid card, "she emailed us" but we never got any email, then she "rang up the next day" and we never got that either, but after i got back when she was supposed to ring up flight sim worked normally, but nobody had done anything, so that was weired,
anywho
now it works fine, it has the same graphics that fs98 had,
anyone know how i can update my INTEL ® CELERON ® (is that the vid card??)
& if i get a new card, can i just take the old one out and put a new one in w/o any hastle?

As coffee says download the program and tell us more details.
Though i can say straight away that there is a need for a major upgrade here consisting of CPU, RAM, VID CARD and motherboard but I can't confirm that till you post the details from that program.

The graphics in FS2004 are considerably better than FS98 so I think you have a bit of tweaking to do.

Ok although it is a new PC a celeron will not work that great for games. Now there is some luck here. You can buy a new Pentium 4 chip that will fit in your motherboard for about £100, and if you have an AGP slot a vid card for another £150.
The penntium 4 to get has too be up to 533mhz FSB and 512kb L2 cache as it fits your chipset
That will put your system in the good

You have onboard graphics at only 64MB. You will never get the full potential out of FS2004 with that.

If you want everything to run better it is inevitable to change the CPU and add an AGP card.
So:
you could get a- Pentium 4 2.8Ghz with 533mhz FSB (512kb cache) wih HTT technology
and a 9800 pro or if on a budget a 9600 XT

I regard selling Celeron systems as a crime especially trying to make them look as good as 2.8GHz P4's. How Dell gets away with I will never know. Never ever go near Dell for a Computer..... NEVER!!!
