Hi,

It seems the Catalyst 5.6's which were to give ATi users 10% extra performance are released. Downloading now. Will post my findings with my 9800 series card.

Funny I found that this morning and downloaded it. Actually screwed up my computer. It took like 10 mins for my computer to boot up and that shouldn't happen with my specs. I ended up on the phone with Dell for 2 hours to get everything fixed. But I must say It did make FS9 run much better just screwed up the rest of my computer. Call me stupid but I'm actually gonna give it another shot here in a bit. Wish me luck!!

I heard that there is supposed to be a 50% increase in FPS with Lock On.

Heading over to that board to see if its true.

Well thats twice now that this thing has screwed up my machine!!! I used drivercleaner to delete my old drivers. I installed the new ones and then it tells you to restart. I press OK and it takes about 5 mins for my computer to actually shut down. Then another 5 for it to boot back up. I don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong.  I goto to delete the new drivers and it doesn't work!  Glad I payed attention on the phone earlier now I know how to fix it. Anyone else having trouble??

Don't install that crappy Catalyst control center, the normal Ati control panel works fine...

Yes as I stated in my previous post I used driver cleaner. Then I checked and they were gone. I'll give it a try without the control panel thingy.

Just download the latest version and use this method. Using really old drivers is pointless, the latest have performance benefits.

Omegadrivers.net -  Alternative Ati and Nvidia drivers.

Driver Cleaner

Quote

To properly remove video card drivers using Driver Cleaner:

• Go to one of the links above and download suitable drivers for your video card.
• Download and install Driver Cleaner using the link provided above.
• Go to the Control panel.
• Click on Add/Remove programs.
• Select the driver to be removed e.g. Ati Display Driver and Ati Control Panel.
• Uninstall the driver chosen.
• Restart the computer in 'Safe Mode' (usually F8 on boot up).
• When entering Windows cancel any 'Found New Hardware' wizards.
• Run Drivercleaner and select from the drop down menu's either Ati or Nvidia and press the 'Clean' button.
• Then restart the computer.
• When entering Windows cancel any 'Found New Hardware' wizards.
• Then install the drivers you downloaded for your video card, restart your computer and you are done. :D
