When you right click on the screen, goto properties settings etc until you are at the ATI settings, one of the ATI tabs gives you a summary of your card.  The top line says CAT version.  Im at work so can't remember what option it is but try them all.

It may actually be the options tab but im guessing

man you don't need driver cleaner its pointless. Just go to the control panel and find you driver and uninstall. But anyways, you guys should use the 5.6 drivers from techpowerup.com . they are the reg. ati drivers except they allow overclocking. I found omega and the other didn't cut it for me.

last time I didn't use driver cleaner I had the installer asking me whether I wanted to overwrite files, which led to further issues...

On all the systems I have worked on I never need that stuff, and never had any issues. I guess it happens to callow people. :D

IS IT JUST ME

or is the main ATI site only showing the download for the CAT with the control centre and no download with the panel version.  I found the panel version (slightly smaller in size as normal) in the downloads section though.

I think that's how it always is on ATI's home page, they only provide the link to the Catalyst with the Control Center crap.

Well, I just tried the 5.6 and they have totally screwed up my desktop, icons are missing althought the name and little arrow are still there, FS) is a black screen now, I have only been updating my Cat since about 3.7 the same way so these 5.6 must have something different.  Gonna try again to see what happened...very strange.

ATI normally have control panel on the main page, I have never had to goto downloads to fins it before.

Yes they work for X600

Well, 2nd time lucky the drivers worked.

I lost 2 FPS though, AA and AF settings the same, I was on 5.1 and will be going back to 5.1 again, the only drivers I used before that were 4.7 and 4.1 as I only change when it improves something.

NOW MY LOCKON doesnt work, errors on boot up with e5d141.tmp unknown error, send message report blah blah..oh well, was needing to do a fresh install of that anyway.

Your control panel is the Omega control panel though. You must have installed Catalyst drivers over the Omegas at one point and retained the control panel. Because the Catalyst drivers' control panel doesn't come with that "Advanced 3D" tab. You can even see the little Omega symbol next to Advanced 3D.

Your a bit out of line, not to mention you miss the point Mul was making. Using ATI's driver removal tool or the Add/Remove in Window's control panel invariably leaves behind parts of the driver in the registry, Driver Cleaner does not, it removes everything.

Hi Neil,  :D

My card is 9600XT and using Omega 2.625a - CAT 5.4 with Radlinker incorperated for overcloking.

Now, just wanna try the 5.6 one more time on my 9600XT.

So, I shall install the CP5.6 (Don't install the crappy CCC5.6 as you suggested), and then I shall install the stand-alone's Radlinker for overclocking.  :P

Am I right?  :D

>>> Mango is still waiting for new DNA . . .  :D
