Yep - pretty much all of it is Gmax, with a few extra apps to change the heightmaps, landclasses and coastlines.

TCY -- did you have any problems with the terrain elevations on the LWM you created?  Got a mate down under who is having problems doing water mesh; land mesh elevations are holding okay, but he can't get the water to hold the elevation he assigns.  Any hints/tricks/tips I could pass on?

Do you mean for creating inland lakes above sea-level? I'm not sure. I've noticed that FS tries to flatten any water polys down to sea level (or at least it did with the LWM creation tool I used). Possibly you could use a flatten area the same shape and elevation as the water? I've not really encountered this as all of my water was at sea-level.

He's primarily dealing with coastlines, which come out okay.  But as he moves outward from the coast, the water mesh will not hold elevation.  He's currently looking into layering, but doesn't want to pursue that too far as the extent of the mesh he's having problems with is several hundred kilometers square.

All the 3D work is made in Gmax. The roads I make by creating a curved line where I want the road to go, and creating a small section of road. Gmax has a tool which you can use to make the road follow the curved line.

Here's a shot from Gmax:

As for tutorials, the existing ones in the Gmax SDK are all you really need.

And in that shot I see what you mean about the polygons being 3-sided.  That's evidently a GMAX way of handling them.

Nice work  :D  .... you've got quite a talent there, TCY.
