I am also thinking of Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, I need to know if it's a good board. Thanks! :D

Did you buy the X1800XT Crossfire edition? :D

It can't function on it's own. You had to have bought the standard X1800 first. The A8R-MVP is good if you plan on crossfire. The A8N-SLI is a good board but it supports SLI but not crossfire.

Are you sure X1800XT Crossfire edition cannot function on its own? What if I get X1900XT with Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard? Will it work fine?

So basically my computer would look like this

AMD Athlon64 3700+ S939 (San Diego)
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Kingston 2GB PC-3200 DDR
ATI Radeon X1900XT

I'd say it won't work since mul also pointed the same thing out as my friend did.  My friend was laughing quite hard.

A single X1900XT which isn't the crossfire edition, will work fine in the A8N-SLI Deluxe. yes.

Can anyone please suggest me the best drivers for X1800XT, X1900XT video cards?

And one more thing, I have 2 Hard disk drives in my new system right now and I just want to add the 3rd one to copy some stuff over to the other two HD's. Is it possible to just connect the 3rd HD since it is SATA HD or will it screw something up? I just want to quickly copy some stuff over to the other HD's, nothing major. All drives are SATA. Thanks very much!

I like the standard ATi Catalyst drivers, (6.2 is the latest, I believe), but others swear to the Omega Drivers, so it's really up to which one you like best.  :D

Do I need SP2 for those divers, especially for the control panel? Because I tied installing ATI 6.3 driver and 6.3 control panel and it didn't really wok well. Ok, the driver and the control panel got installed but when I go into the control panel to adjust anti-aliasing, or filtering, control panel doesn't show up, like there are no traces of control panel in the display menu. I have also installed all the divers that came with the mo-bo and the video card. I have SP1 at the moment so I was wondering if that is why it isn't showing up or working properly but I am not sure. I've tried many different drivers and control panels too. So please, can anyone give me some suggestions why control panel doesn't show up even thought it is installed along wit everything else?

Not sure if this helps but, my new system look like this,

AMD Athlon64 3700+ S939 (San Diego)
Asus A8N-SLI Motherboard
Kingston 2GB PC-3200 DDR (Dual Channel)
ATI Radeon X1800XT
800GB Hard disk Space
  - Maxtor S-ATA 300GB HD 16MB cache
  - Maxtor S-ATA 300GB HD 16MB cache
  - Maxtor S-ATA 200GB HD 16MB cache
Enermax 550Watts PSU
5.1 Surround Sound Card
1710 Watts (11 Speakers)
16X Sony DVD-ROM
16X Sony DVD-R/+/RW-/+ Dual Layer DVD-Writer
Sony Floppy Drive
Logitech Wireless Keyboard & Mouse
17' LG TFT LCD monitor
Windows XP Pro with SP1

Just a side question; would this be enough to tie me over till FS10?

Thats alot of GBs............Do you need all that........? I have 450GBs and I don't even use half of the 250GB HDD I have and I have tons of movies and music files, not to mention like 50GB of FS crap....

Sound like a nice system none the less.

Well, my FS is 174GB and I also keep a zipped backup copy of it which is 32GB, just in case. I am also into photography and film/video making and editing so I need a lot of room to be able to work and store my stuff as well as backups of every single file I have in my entire computer, and as I already mentioned, that includes FS. Plus it is always nice to have a few extra gigs :D

Come on people, any ideas on what's happing with the control panel? :D

PS what I mentioned was 50GB of just FS crap, not the ACTUAL FS file..... God only knows how big is that.....

Either way yeah its nice to have a few GB floating around just in case....

By the way, after installing XP, do I need to install SP1 and then SP2 or do I just go straight to installing SP2? Thanks!

Just keep using Windows Update until you have everything you want.

Thanks, I actually just installed SP2. I am now wondering, Does FS conflict with SP2 or does it run just as well as it does on SP1? Thanks!
