However, the FAQs says something I like:

Sounds a lot like FSX to me with some changes and hopefully better performance from the start.

Yes that caught my attention as well. All this speculation of Flight being an arcade version of FS can finally be put to rest.

Seems too early in the game for real screenshots or footage. This is probably just a conceptual CGI video, meaning this is what the Microsoft team hopes MS Flight will look like when it's finished.

Quite possible, but seeing as we really have no idea how far into development they are there's just no telling. While I remain hopeful my expectations are still realistic.

No, I didn't.  But the way they are talking it sounds like FSX.  FSX introduced different complexity levels and more "fun-based" missions with a compass telling you where to go.  FSX was meant to capture a simpler audience as well as the hardcore simulating fans.  But obviously, in the beginning, it failed miserably and tarnished its name.  After reading the part I quoted, it sounds like they are trying to do the exact same thing but also adding in more of a social experience through Live.

You also forgot to bold the part that reinforces what I said: "while welcome the millions of existing Flight Simulator fans."

My thoughts on what the FSX C172 being back there means: (Yes, I can tell that IS the default FSX Cessna 172 Blue, white, and gold paint scheme.   )

The Cessna is parked in the hangar, left alone with the Stearman in front, outside. It's a symbol of "out with the old, and in with the new." The Cessna represents the old, (FSX) and the Stearman represents the new. (MS Flight) It's also showing the leap forward in the graphics, giving the impression that the sim will be greatly improved in that category.
