And, honestly, almost anything would be better than FSX.

Live is not "lousy." Live on Xbox is undoubtedly the best online service out there, but I haven't had too much experience with GFW Live to really make any claims. What I can say, though, is that my experience with Gamespy was the worst online gaming experience I've ever had.


Because Steam runs great on only 65% of the computers that use it. It runs terribly on my system.

There are 3 million Steam users active at any given time. I think the problem is on your end, and not Steam's.

I've talked to multiple people where it runs nightmarish on their system as well.

I'm running a system from 2006 (almost 5 years ago), and it runs smooth as butter. Not sure what your issue is, don't you have a newish computer?

2005 for me.

Sure, it's not a very good computer, but it runs FSX decently (12FPS) on 75% of settings on.

hi all, nice forum. i just wanted to say that while i would enjoy new features and human connectivity a la an MMO game, what i'm taking for granted is based on MS's description of flight is that they certainly won't be improving the flight physics model/realism in that area.  which is why i'm gonna try xplane.

what i would like is a realistic experience that's even MORE accurate than what we have now, along with graphics that push the envelope but are future friendly with the actual technologies of the future; ie not something that figures an 8ghz single core will be out in a year or two.
