Hi there to all

Here are my full system and FS specs: Peter from FEX says with my system that I should be getting like 30 soild fps, and not what I am currently getting now. He has gotten me curious as to what I could do to get fs running better.

AMD Athlon Dual Core 4600 64bit processor 2.4 ghx, no over clocking
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 640gddr3, driver 169.25
4 gigs of ram
320 gig hd, 500gig back up
like 720 watts of power
Vista Home Premium SP1

FSX settings:
Global texture: Very High
LOD: Medium
Mesh Complexity: 90
Mesh Resolution: 38m
Texture Resolution: 1m
Water: 2x high
Scenery Complexity: Extremely dense
Autogen: Normal
Special Effects: high
Cloud draw distance: 70 miles
Cloud coverage density: High
AI Airplanes: 100
Airport vehicles: 100

Both boats: 90
framerates: unlimited

Tweaks:

Considering  that the new patches have been released (SP1 and  Sp2) and that, consequently,  FSX is now fully apdated, it wuold be very useful to know if the tweaks posted at the beginning of this forum are  still useful or perhaps they should be revised in order to take into consideration of these changes.

I cannot find my CFG file. VISTA.

Am lost in Appdata/Local/Microsoft/FSX and there is nothing there. Only two folder called shaders and shaders10. Nothing in either of them.

Hidden files are on show!

Please help me find it....

I get a bit confused when I hear of problems with FPS.  I got my FSX about 6 months after it came out and I haven't had any problems with it what so ever.  I don't have a super fast computer. It's a 2.1 mhz dual processor with 2mb
of memory.  It does have a NVidia graphics card that I added.  I've noticed in the FSX SDK NVidia is mentioned several times.  I think FSX has been tweeked to work with NVidia graphic cards so perhaps this is an answer to blurry or poor
performance of FSX.  I get 24fps most of the time with a drop to 16 around big cities and I have those settings at max.

Thanks for sharing your ideas with us.  The tweak for the Autogen in FSX.CFG is useless to users like myself who have their Autogen slider at Maximum.  Every Tree and every House in FS9 or FSX is created and placed by a BGL in the
flight simulator when you load it.  All the Autogen does is set the PERCENTAGE of them that you will see.  Sitting it
at Normal will make the program draw approximately 50% of the trees and buildings that were originally created in
that area.  No amount of tweaking will place a building where it hadn't already been generated by FS.
I'm sure your aware of this but there are users who think that Autogen randomly creates trees and buildings.

I actually though it did well in some parts

I'd recommend not to use that tweak/mod if you have Acceleration/SP2 installed (it'll probably screw stuff up if you do).

Dear FS'ers,

I'm just new on this forum. I was wondering which are the best tweaks for my PC, can someone please advise, because the framerates a still low (between 7 and 16 on the ground without high configuration).
My PC SPECS:

- Quad Core Q6600 @ 2.4 GHZ
- Nvidia 8600 GT-DDR3 (256 MB)
- 4 GB DDR2-800mHz

FSX is installed with SP1, SP2 and REX (Real Environment Xtreme). But I think my FSX.cfg isn't updated after the installation of REX. Normally it will update automatically, can someone help my out?

Some help or advise which tweaks can be usefull for my or a whole FSX.cfg from somebody who have the same or less PC SPECS would be very very fine! Thank you in advance!

Overclock that Q6000 for starters. Take the time to read through the suggested tweaks in this thread, it'll take a while but you'll learn a lot. But also, you should post this query in the general FSX or Tech forum here, start your own thread, you'll get lots of help in either. And welcome to fsw.

Hey guys, what was the tweak that made the ground blurry in the distance? and only focused and clear up close?   I am doing some Beta for ORBX and would like to be able to see the ground in the distance!

I remember that i found a .cfg tweak that allowed you to remove the tower view from the camera sequences anyone remembers how to do that ???

Those patches are only relevant if you're using FSX SP1.  If you aren't running SP1, they could mess up your autogen.
