Why would it be a mistake? A 738 could make the journey. Lots of aircraft are out of position seems like something KLM would do.

I don't think KLM have a 737 route that far? How would it be out of position? :hrmm:

Not that bad for pax though, as long as they can get to a northern European port they cant get back to Britain.

There is currently a BA aircraft on 129.1 (missed his call sign poss BA074) says he can hold for up to 3hrs as he has been told there are negotiations currently going on behind the scenes to allow him & possibly others to land at LHR.

Speedbird 84 seems very determined. They are flying over the isle of man and are about to start their seventh loop while holding at FL340.
they only have 2 hours of fuel left apparantly before they would have to divert to paris or madrid

NEWS JUST IN:

There will be a phased opening of UK airspace from 2200 tonight.

two SAS flights turned back after risking of going into an ashcloud.
The decision was taken by the pilots but SAS have a no-fly policy for areas affected by volcanic ash.

burning smell over bovingdon FL060 over brent cross

BAW084 10 miles from touchdown

they are making it dramatic by asking for a windcheck :hrmm:

seagull (the bird scarer) is in operation... no wonder why :hrmm:

tower just said welcome home before handoff to ground
