I don't think you understand what a NDA is for a Beta.

I'm not asking you any information about the game. Someone else said on the other thread that they played it for several hours.

Just retrieved my account. Didn't get selected.  :hrmm:

All that process of creating accounts and such for nothing. I'm sure that if they knew I've been flying FS since 2002, they would select me.
The selection is more based on user history. If you've done beta testing for Microsoft before, your changes of being picked are higher than average.

Lets see...how can I put it lightly...?

Extreme disappointment! As a follower of Flight from day one, I always thought it had the potential to be a replacement for FSX. Apparently, that won't happen unless some changes occur at MGS, which I don't see happening. Such a shame after all my ranting to "trolls" and all my work on the screenshot comparisons to prove people wrong that said Flight would fail.  :hrmm:  There was an attempt to appeal to hard core simmers, but it really didn't work. The game part overrules the simulation aspect. It's truly sad to see our hobby being left in the dust. X-Plane 10 is not a great platform IMO, Prepar3d for $10 a month or $499 once is too pricy, and FSX is very outdated? Where is the future? At this point, it's looking like we'll have to keep using FSX until something for hardcore simmers comes around that is a reasonable replacement.

It's not all bad. It looks very nice. If it is expanded on by Microsoft themselves at least, it could have some more success. (addition of airliners, helicopters, the whole world, etc) If they see the market they are missing, (US!!!!) maybe they'll try to make it less closed of a platform, but I don't see that happening.

You just described the beta, saying it's boring.

If I may "speculate" B) :( :(

The MS Flight installer will require Games for Windows Live (GFWL, sometimes referred to Go and :hrmm: yourself, Windows Live). We all know how great this particular "feature" is, and I'm happy when they install the ~250MB lot of it on my computer.

The install (including GFWL, Games for Windows Marketplace, Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant, and, finally, Microsoft Flight) may be approximately 1,059.60MB in size.

Beta users may or may not have a small feedback forum made available to them in the beta site, which I assume is already well populated with pretty serious bugs.

This is all just speculation, of course. :P

it is that bad....believe me.  I feel guilty for applying when a 4 year old may have got some fun out of it, no joke.

OK. Now I'm sure Flight has killed the franchise.

Instead of paying for default scenery, I'll just buy add-ons for FSX. After all, I have never bought FSX add-ons!

Seriously - start with getting Acceleration.

You're still running vanilla - it's god awful!

Has Acceleration dropped in price at all? I don't want to spend all the money I've been saving on Flight for this.

Graphics are much, much more refined in Flight.

It's extremely arcadey, though. Then again, this is only a demo.

I'd say it's too hard to judge Flight from the demo alone.

Are you a beta tester?

He is, if you go by his other post. But the problem I have with MS Flight is that the add-ons I actually use currently will most likely not develop for it in the future because of what went on between them and Microsoft.

I don't use add-ons so I don't care that much for them, but I guess it's a bummer for the majority of simmers.

Refined graphics, smooth as silk gameplay, no blurries, high FPS...doesn't mean much when your mission is to flying a girl to a party on a boat, in a plastic plane that looks like it's designed inside for a Telly Tubby to fly.....

...are you kidding me? Is that a mission in Flight?!

Please tell me Free Flight is unaffected from that arcade crap!

Sorry to say, it's pretty arcadey. The screen is bordered with overlays including a colorful throttle meter.

Maybe zig zagging around balloons and collecting coins will entice the hardcore simmers......

You can turn that off from the options. I saw it on the video posted above.

Any other arcade stuff on Free Flight?
